KlarGRAPHENE
Graphene Coating in Singapore: KlarGRAPHENE
KlarGRAPHENE is Klar's in-house graphene coating, rated up to 3 to 5 years with proper maintenance. It gives water beading, deeper gloss and easier washing. It does not make paint scratch-proof or chip-proof. You can try it on your bonnet first for S$88, before deciding on the full car.

What graphene coating at Klar includes
- Premium hand wash and exterior decontamination
- Surface preparation, and paint correction where needed
- KlarGRAPHENE coating
- Hydrophobic water beading
- Gloss enhancement and colour depth
- UV and environmental protection
- Infrared curing
- EV and hybrid-safe processes
How it works
- 1Free assessment
We inspect the paint and agree whether the full car, or the S$88 bonnet trial first, is the right start.
- 2Hand wash and decontamination
Dirt, fallout and bonded contaminants are removed before any product touches the paint.
- 3Correction where needed
Visible swirl marks and etching are corrected so they are not sealed under the coating.
- 4Surface preparation
Polishing residue is wiped off so the coating bonds to bare clear coat.
- 5KlarGRAPHENE application
The coating is applied by hand in an enclosed, dust-free bay.
- 6Curing and inspection
Infrared lamps cure the coating, then each panel is inspected and aftercare is explained.
What does graphene coating do, and what does it not do?
Graphene coating adds a hydrophobic layer that beads water, deepens gloss and makes washing easier. It also helps resist UV and environmental fallout. It does not make a car self-cleaning, and it does not stop scratches or stone chips.
If stone-chip protection is your priority, paint protection film is the right product. We will say so if it applies to your car.
Graphene or ceramic: which suits a Singapore daily driver?
Graphene is rated for a longer life: up to 3 to 5 years with proper maintenance, against about 1 to 2 years with minimal upkeep for KlarCOAT ceramic. Both bead water and add gloss. Graphene suits owners who keep the car for years and will maintain the coating. Ceramic suits those who prefer a shorter commitment.
The comparison is explained in full in our article on ceramic against graphene in Singapore's climate. For the other option, see ceramic coating.
What is included in the S$88 graphene bonnet trial?
The S$88 trial includes a premium hand wash, surface preparation, graphene coating on the bonnet, a water-beading demonstration and a gloss enhancement treatment. It lets you see the finish on your own car before committing to a full coating.
It suits new car owners, enthusiasts and anyone comparing ceramic with graphene. Details and booking are on the graphene bonnet trial page.
Does the paint need correcting before graphene coating?
Not always. A coating seals in what is already on the paint, so visible swirl marks, water-spot etching and oxidation should be corrected first. Clean paint on a newer car may need only a wash and preparation.
We inspect the paint at the free assessment and quote correction only if it is needed. See paint correction.
How do you maintain a graphene-coated car?
Wash by hand on a regular schedule with a pH-neutral shampoo and clean microfibre, avoid abrasive products, and keep to the aftercare you are given. Coatings last longest when they are inspected and topped up.
Our half-yearly KlarMAINTENANCE programme inspects the coating and applies KlarSHIELD each visit.
Price
The S$88 graphene bonnet trial is the one published price. A full-car graphene coating is quoted after the free assessment, and the quote is fixed before work starts.
Questions about graphene coating
How long does graphene coating last in Singapore?
KlarGRAPHENE is rated up to 3 to 5 years with proper maintenance. Real life depends on how the car is used, where it is parked, the weather and how it is washed. Ask for the cover terms in writing at the assessment, before you commit to a full-car coating.
Is graphene coating worth it?
It is worth considering if you will keep the car for several years and wash it with care. It improves gloss, repels water and eases cleaning, but it does not stop scratches or chips. The S$88 bonnet trial lets you judge it on your own car first.
Can I try graphene coating before committing?
Yes. The S$88 bonnet trial applies graphene coating to your bonnet after a premium hand wash and surface preparation. It includes a water-beading demonstration and a gloss enhancement treatment, so you can compare the bonnet with the rest of the car.
Can I graphene-coat a new car?
Yes. A new car is inspected first. Some need only a wash and preparation, others have transport marks or dealer polishing swirls that are worth correcting before coating. We tell you which applies at the free assessment, before any quote is fixed.
Does graphene coating stop scratches and stone chips?
No. It adds a hard, slick layer and improves gloss, but it does not stop scratches or chips. Paint protection film is the right product for impact protection. We will advise on this if your driving or parking makes chips likely.
